Quick Compo
Documentation
What is Quick Compo ?
Quick Compo is an addon that allows you to modify and rework your renderings directly in Blender without using an image editing software.
Compositing is an essential step in creation process. It help you to bring the best of your render.
Quick Compo is the fastest and easyest way to set up a full set of compositing effect in Blender.
Quick Compo is available for B3.2
Installation and initialization
Initialization Quick Compo panel :
Initialize Quick compo : Click on the initialize Quick Compo button to start the initialization
Open compositor panel :
Open compositor : Click on the open compositor button to open a new compositor editor window
Installation : Quick Compo installs like any other addon
Edit > Preference > addons > installation then restart Blender.
Initialization : To start using Quick Compo it is necessary to initialize the addon for this go to Npanel > Quick compo > initialization then open the compositor with the shortcut located in the Quick Compo menu of Npanel.
Access : N panel (addon panel).
Notes :
_ Warning ! It is absolutely necessary to initialize and open the compositor before launching a rendering, otherwise the addon will not work.
_ Warning! If you uninstall the addon think to save your preset in an external file before uninstalling.
How it Works
Utilization : Once the addon is initialized you will have to launch a render > F12 and open the Npanel once it is finished.
_ The panel of the addon is composed of a part dedicated to the preset and a second to the current setting. It is possible to hide these settings to limit the computing time of your computer and to see the effect of a setting or a preset.
Access : N panel (addon panel)
Note :
_ The calculation time of Quick Compo is proportional to the rendering time of the image, to avoid too much calculation time launch a preview of your final rendering with the output parameters of the images, make your settings and save them. Then apply them again to your final render.
_ If you activate a large number of settings, the refresh time can be long, so hide the ones that are not used with the visibility button.
_ The order of the settings is from top to bottom, each setting will have an influence on those located above each of them.
_ Quick Compo works with Cycle but also with EEVEE, however for the latter renderer the passes settings (indirect and direct glossy as well as ambient oclusion) will not work.
Setting (4) : Allows you to set a specific parameter. Each one can be individually hidden with the visibility button.
Reset (5) : Reset a setting to its default value
Default Quick Compo panel :
Options (1) : Allows you to access the options for saving and importing/exporting presets.
Main visibility (2) : Hides all activated settings.
Presets (3) : Allows you to select a pre-recorded, default or custom setting.
Use a Preset
Presets
Use Presets : Select one and see how it looks on your render. They allows you to easily edit the ambiance of your images after rendering.
Creae Presets : You can modify each preset with the filters and then to save Npanel > Button option > Save as. Once created you can add a thumbnail with Add an icon located in the same place as the previous function.
Export / Import Presets : You can export your presets to an external file to transmit your settings to someone else or in case of uninstallation of the addon. For this Npanel > Button option > Export you can then choose the presets to export. To import Npanel > Button option > Import and proceed in the same way as for export.
Notes :
_ Warning ! Remember to export the presets in case of installation. Quick Compo does not save custom presets if it is uninstalled
_ When selecting a preset it may take a while for your computer to recalculate the rendering, check the rendering progress bar to see if your PC is calculating.
_ If Quick compo is used on two different files at the same time, adding, deleting or modifying a preset will not be synchronized, it will have to be done manually with Npanel > Option button > Reload
_ It can happen that when loading a preset the effect is not applied, you can refresh the scene with Npanel > Option button > Reload.
Create Custom Preset
Import / Export custom Presets
Delete preset : Delete the selected preset
select icon : Adds or modifies the thumbnail of the selected preset.
import external preset : Allows you to import new custom presets.
Export presets to external location : Allows you to save your custom presets to the location of your choice.
Defaut Options Button :
Save : Saving new parameters on the selected preset.
Saves As : Create a new custom preset.
Reload : Refresh Quick Compo when used in several different files.
Filters Optic
Effects : The optical filters allow you to play with the image content, to adjust the sharpness, the noise or to create a distortion or blurring effect.
Anti-aliasing : Regulates the anti-frosting effect.
Lens-distortion : Creating a distortion effect of a lens with distort and the dispersion add blur around the edge of the image.
Default Optic Settings :
Sharp : Adds sharpness to the image.
Noise : Adds noise to the image you can change quantity and size of noise.
Glare: Adds a glare effect to the image. The threshold allows to limit the effect to a range of liminosity, mix changes the intensity of the effect and size the dimention of the light halo

Filter Volumetric
Effect : Adds volume to the image, simulating the thickness of the air in the background.
Notes :
- A first setting is to be made in World Properties > Mist pass > Change start and depth according to your project parameters, then you can adjust the result with Quick Compo.
Default Volumetric Setting :
Volume : Display modifier related to the selected object.
The density represents the thickness of the air, the beginning and the end allow to set the beginning and the end of the effect on the scene.
Filters Geometry
Effects : Adds lateral black bands or a black halo around the image.
Notes :
_ The Crop filter does not add a black background to the whole image, so it is no longer possible to render an image with transparency using this effect.
Default Geometriy Setting :
Vignette : Adds a black halo effect adjustable in tail and transparency.
The Mix controls the transparency, while the Blur controls the sharpness with which the effect is applied to the image. The ratio in X and Y regulates the dimensions of the effect.
Crop : Adds horizontal or vertical black bands adjustable in size.

Filters Color
Effects : Allows you to set and modify the parameters of the colors composing your images.
Note :
_ The Color Manager filter requires a lot of computing time, so think about turning it off when you are not using it.
Tint Luminosity : Allows you to give a tint to the light or shadows of your rendering. The shadow tint intensity allows you to adjust the color and intensity of the shadows in relation to the light, then the balance allows you to adjust the overall intensity of the effect
Default Color Setting :
Color Manager : Allows you to set saturation, brightness and hue parameters by color range. This effect will be used to accentuate or attenuate one or more color ranges to highlight an element of the rendering.
Tint : Gives a dominant tone to an image
Temperature : Gives a warmer or cooler tone to the color of your rendering
Vibrance : Saturate or desaturate only the dull color range. Allows you to equalize or accentuate the differences in color intensity in your image
Saturation : Saturates or desaturates colors

Filters Luminosity
Effects : Allows you to set and modify the parameters of brightness and contrast of the shadows, the light or the whole image.
Notes :
_ Beware that the claret setting changes the image as soon as it is activated, if you don't want your image to be modified, deactivate this setting.
Default Luminosity Setting :
Light Adjustement : This setting allows you to adjust the lighting parameters of a part of the scene: shadows, direct light and average tone.
Light : Allows you to adjust the classic lighting parameters of the whole image.
Clarity : Allows you to accentuate the brightness of a texture or an area by playing on the accentuation of the contrast of the medium tone
Clarity controls the intensity of the contrast,
min and max allows to choose the range on which the effect will be applied. Finally the luminosity is applied to the whole scene.

Filters Passes
Effects : Allows you to set and modify the parameters of brightness and contrast of the shadows, the light or the whole image.
Notes :
_ These settings require a lot of computing time, so don't activate them until you set them.
_ Filters passed at background execution do not work in EEVEE.
Default Passes Setting :
Ambiante Oclusion : Darkens the areas naturally difficult to access to light. this effect makes the relief of objects appear
Background : Allows you to insert an image of your choice in the background of your render this tool allows for example to insert a sky or a background simply.
Glossy direct : Reinforces the glossy effect of a material.
Glossy indirect : Adds a glossy effect to the dull parts of an object.
